OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
Hello 5th Grader! The Hingham Art Teachers have been working hard to give you fun and creative ways to review what you already know about visual art. We understand that different families have different resources at home (so do I!) so you will have choices. These next few days 5th grade students will be working on SHAPE! All the art teachers miss you a lot, and will see you soon! If you have questions, please ask your parents to email me. I am the art teacher at PRS, Ms Kelfer [email protected] INTRODUCTION This week’s art creation should be simple, quick, and hopefully fun! Grade five students will create a piece of artwork all about SHAPE. This lesson is designed to review different types of shapes. Begin by exploring SHAPE: Look around your home, where do you see interesting shapes? Are they GEOMETRIC or ORGANIC? Optional extension: Watch the video about SHAPE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJzGkZwkHt4 OBJECTIVES 1. Students will create a piece of artwork where they incorporate SHAPES 2. Students will review the element of SHAPE including the difference between geometric shapes and organic shapes 3. Students will recognize that artists use many different types of shape in their artwork! MATERIALS NEEDED (two options) Choice one:
