Create your own Gallery! This week we are going to pretend to be a curator. A curator is someone who chooses artwork for display in a museum. They also help design the galleries that the artwork is displayed in.
You can make your own gallery at home! Here is what to do:
1. Choose an audience or a theme. Will your gallery:
Showcase an artist?
Be for a specific person/audience/animal?
Showcase a certain type of art?(painting, sculpture photography, etc)
2. Choose some artwork for your gallery. It can be artwork you made, or artwork that you find in magazines, books, or printed from the internet. All artwork should be labeled with a title and the artist who created it! You can even "frame" it with construction paper.
3. Choose a location for your gallery. Will it be:
Outside or inside?
High up or near the ground (depending on who you choose for your audience)
Decorated with outer things such as plants, a rug, small furniture etc.
4. Present your gallery! Show it to your family, your pets, your favorite toys, and of course your art teacher!
Take a photo or video tour of your gallery and post it on Google Classroom so your art teacher can see it!
