Here are your two choices for what you create this week:

Choice 1: Create one "concept illustration" for a place that doesn't exist, that you would love to be able to actually visit.
For an example, the Disney Imagineers created Galaxy's Edge, the new Star Wars area, first with conceptillustrations. See how important they are in this video - the concept art shows up in many different scenes - you should watch once to enjoy, then a second time to try and find the concept illustrations posted around, on table, everywhere! (If you would like to look at the concept art more closely, you can find them with this search: https://bit.ly/36h2RfE
Why is it important for the concept illustrations to always be referred to when creating first the models, and then the final product?

Your "place" might be from a favorite book, your imagination, an amusement park, or an imaginary world you create. This should be ONE part of ONE idea, and meant to be exciting. Before Galaxy's Edge was built, there were many Concept Illustrations created for each ride, each store, each food vendor, each costume, everywhere! You are only creating one illustration of one point of view of one area. (Don't create a picture of an entire amusement park - you don't have time.)
You can also find photos as reference if you wish - did you know that the Imagineers who were in charge of creating Galaxy's Edge used locations from the Southwest United States, Western Asia, Eastern Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East as inspiration to create this setting?
Your drawing does not need to be large - you could work with more detail with a smaller size. You could use pencil, pen, colored pencil, paint; a digital program - whatever you like. Create a couple of quick small sketches to help you plan. Your image will look more exciting if you add angles (in the video, notice the ships arriving at angles, with the Millennium Falcon arriving from the front left corner, zooming in? That adds excitement!) While you finished illustration should be more than a sketch, this is only one week, and your art teachers understand that.

Choice 2: Imagine that you are trying to get hired as a new illustrator for a book publishing company. Create a new illustration for a chapter heading of one of your favorite books, or for the chapter heading of a book that you create the idea for!
Dav Pilkey, the illustrator of the Captain Underpants books, in collaboration with our Nation's Library of Congress, is offering some fun and amazing "draw together" opportunities on Friday mornings - the past videos are all posted as well: https://kids.scholastic.com/kids/books/dav-pilkey-at-home/
